Agua Azul

After leaving the artsy town of San Cristobal de las Casas I continued heading down South and every day getting closer to my goal. Reach Guatemala and therefore cross the whole country from border to border.

Anyways, in some point while in San Cristobal de las Casas I was browsing around Instagram and I saw “Cascadas de Agua Azul” . The place looked amazing and to my luck I was kinda close to it..

So without hesitation I pedal my way for some downtime in the waterfalls.

The road to get to Cascadas de Agua Azul is both painful and enjoyable.

Ups and downs and steep hills all the way..making it a roller coaster ride. Though, riding between bushes, trees, and panoramic views made it an incredible stage.

By the way, if you get to ride this route you’ll see kids running and happily waving at you all over the place!

Also make sure to have breaks on your bike. Trust me, you’ll need it most of the time. Due to the fact that theres “topes” or stop bumps in every single downhill.

Long story short, every km cycle
was worth it and the place is unreal.

Long time ago I heard a popular phrase that goes like:

“Hard work pays off”

Damn, a fresh coconut and watching this show really fucking paid 140km of cycling.

Au revoir!
